Over the past few years Warmest Chord’s fascination with the doe-eyed, sad sack monsters that populate Ben Woodward’s work hasn’t slowed one bit.

I recently stumbled upon this fantastic Numero Group compilation, Local Customs: Lone Star Lowlands which consists of recordings of local amateur musicians at the Lowlands Recording Studio in ’ The Golden Triangle’, Texas. The compilation exhibits a group of artists presenting their one ill-fated shot at success.
What really intrigued me about this release is the fantastic chart which comes in the packaging, which acts as a ‘family tree’ to all of musicians and incestuously shows which bands they featured in. What a great idea!
