The GW Law scholar spent decades navigating the labyrinth of immigration law and now makes use of that understanding to help fight for civil and human rights. A retired courtroom lawyer who by no means lost a jury trial, Burchfield, JD ’79, endows a brand new professorship in First Amendment law at GW Law. Explored AI’s potential to help in climate change efforts in her article Artificial Intelligence and Climate Change, printed within the Yale Journal on Regulation in 2020. Professor Stein turned to the intersection of AI and tort law in her forthcoming article Assuming the Risks of Artificial Intelligence, to be published within the Boston University Law Review in 2022. Alumni and pals of Melbourne Law School play a critical half in supporting and enriching the life of our neighborhood. The international MLS alumni network includes more than 20,000 graduates, spanning 103 nations.
